Obituary of Ethel Kathleen Bent

Ethel Kathleen Bent (Hunt) Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. 

Ethel Bent 89, passed away May 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Ethel was predeceased by her husband George, Son Jim (James), brothers Charles, Billy, and Ronnie, sisters Maisie and Mary.  She is survived by daughters Sharon (Brian) Hamilton of Litchfield, Brenda Bent of Digby, Sons: Jermey Bent of Granville Center and John Bent (Darlene) of Digby as well as Sister Violet Hamilton of Port Royal, Sister-in-laws: Janet Hunt of Toronto and Jean Milne of Granville Center.  Grand children: Danny (Karen), Linda (Kevin), Leah (Greg), Rylea, Mathew, Tanya (Jermey), and Bethany (Matthew). Great grandchildren: Brooke, Cohen, Chloe and Davin and several nieces and nephews. 

 Ethel was active in the community of Granville Center as a member of the Anglican church and the community hall.  She was well known for her baking abilities most notably her molasses cookies and sugared donuts which she shared with family as well as neighbors who dropped by. She had a love for nature; she loved walks to the river and hikes up to the family camp.  She enjoyed afternoon visits with family friend Donna, who lived across the field from her family home.          

Lastly, the family would like to thank Saunders Rest Home in Bridgetown where she spent 2 years and Annapolis Nursing Home where she spent the final 11 years of her life. Staff at both facilities were kind and caring.                                                                                                            

Family service to follow at later date. Family flowers only, donations can be made to the Wadeville cemetery, IWK Children’s Hospital, and Heart and Stroke Foundation. 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Kaulbach Funeral Home. Private family burial.
