Obituary of Trevor Robert Longmire
Longmire Trevor Robert, aged 58, of Litchfield, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia.
It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Trevor passed away at home on August 5 with his loving wife of 33 years, Shelley (Keddy) Longmire, by his side.
Trevor is survived by his wife, the former Shelley Keddy; sons, Jacob (Candice), step granddaughter, Makenna (16), Dylan, Dawson; daughter; Jenna (Logan), grandchildren, Shelby (16), Easton (4), Tate (2), Adalynn (8 months); sisters, Joy (Andy) Amirault, Sylvia (Rocklyn) Longmire, Mona (Raymond) McEachern; brothers, Allan (Patty) Longmire, Patrick (Jackie) Longmire. Predeceased by his parents, Bobby & Betty Longmire.
Trevor started his fishing career at a young age, then proceeded to further his education at Scotia Career Academy to become a Security Guard. As well he attended NBBI (New Brunswick Bible Institute). He then returned to Nova Scotia with family, where he pastored for several years. After this he went back fishing and did some security work at Annapolis Health Center.
If you knew Trevor, he had a big heart, was very outgoing and always willing to help wherever and whenever he could. When it came to his kid’s basketball teams you could hear him cheering on the side lines loud and proud. He had a love for sports, and enjoyed fantasy hockey with his son, Dawson. He enjoyed fishing with his two older sons, along with watching old westerns.
Trevor gave his life to Christ in 1980, and although he struggled at times with consistency in his faith, God never wavered in His faithfulness towards Trevor.
Later in spring of 2024, after Trevor was diagnosed with stage four cancer, he turned back to God which provided him the strength and faith to impact and inspire other lives. Throughout his cancer journey he always thought of others before himself, with his contagious smile and bubbly personality. His outgoing personality made it easy for him to strike up a conversation and prayer at anytime and anywhere. God gave him the grace to finish well. He spent his days praising God and counting his many blessings.
With this he leaves his legacy of faith behind to his Wife, precious children, and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all, but we know he is with the Heavenly Father looking down on us rejoicing.
