Obituary of John Brent Bower

John ‘Johnny’ Brent Bower, age 74, of Halifax NS passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton, NS.

Born in Shelburne, NS, he was the son of the late Eldridge and Marie (Brent) Bower. He is survived by his sisters, Marjorie Low of Bedford, Barbara Ann Bower (Dan) of Halifax, Muriel Greenwood of Cavendish, PEI, brother Carl (Shirley) Bower of Chester Basin along with children Robin and Tara and sisters-in-law Barb (Bower) and Debbie (Bower), brother-in-law John Bowser and including several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers Churchill, Roger and Robert and sister Rosemarie. Along with brothers-in-law Ken, Courtney, David and Victor and sister-in-law Sandra.

John moved to Halifax with his family as a child and lived most of his adult life there in the city. He spent his later years at the Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown NS. His family would like to express heartfelt and sincere appreciation to the staff at Mountain Lea, who took great care of John during his time there.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a gravesite service in Jordan Ferry, NS in the Spring of 2026.
