Obituary of Ritva-Leena Ratto

Ratto, Ritva-Leena – 83, of Annapolis Royal, passed away on December 21, 2019, in the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born in Viipuri, Finland, she was the daughter of Aune Ratto, and very proud to be a “Karelian Finn”. Ritva- Leena was a retired nurse, having worked many years in Montreal. She was an active volunteer with Kings Theatre; Annapolis Region Community Arts Council and Friends of the Annapolis Royal Library until her mobility prevented her from being able to actively participate. She is survived by son, Mark de Repentigny of Ottawa, granddaughter, Melissa de Repentigny of Laval, Quebec, and Melissa’s mother Anna Madrenero. She will be missed by her many friends in Annapolis Royal and area. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Visitation will be held 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am, January 24, 2020 at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Elisabeth Bachem-Jennings officiating. A reception will follow at the home of John Kinsella and Lillian Stewart, 30 St. James Street, Annapolis Royal. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Ritva-Leena’s memory may be made to Kings Theatre, Annapolis Royal; Annapolis Region Community Arts Council or Friends of the Annapolis Royal Library.
