Cress, Lorayne Pamela, 63, of Clementsvale, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2020.
Lorayne was born in Halifax to William and Lorayne Stokes on March 12, 1956. Lorayne married her high school sweetheart and partner for life on August 23, 1975. They spent 44 wonderful years together. Lorayne and Ron built a beautiful life together, have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren. They enjoyed spending their time with family and relaxing at the cabin. Lorayne was a driven woman and never gave up on anything or anyone. Lorayne began her career in tourism, performing many roles, eventually managing Mountain Gap Inn before changing careers, entering real estate. Lorayne loved being a realtor. She worked hard for her clients, made many new friends and continued to promote Nova Scotia as a great place to live.
Lorayne is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; her daughters Carrie (Donald Andrews) of Sydney River, Sheryl (Andrew Rudolph) of New Glasgow, Jennifer (Michael) Weir of Kingston, Michelle (Jamie) Brown of Lequille; her siblings Kathy (Ken) Trimper of Bear River East, John (Maria) Stokes of British Columbia, Dena McDonell of Dartmouth, Marilyn (Allan) Browne of Florida; her adored grandchildren of whom she was most proud of- Lyndi, Kelcey, Sandy, Marcus, Colin and Connor; and several nieces and nephews. Lorayne was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lorayne Stokes.
By request, a private family service will take place on January 23, 2020 at Saint Louis Catholic Parish Church, Annapolis Royal at 2pm, with Father Keith Billard officiating. Family Flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Bridgetown Salvation Army in Lorayne’s memory.
A celebration of Lorayne’s life will be held on July 25, 2020 at Ron and Lorayne’s cabin. All are welcome.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Annapolis Royal.

*****Due to the uncertainty of how the summer of 2020 will proceed, we, the family of the late Lorayne Cress, have decided to postpone her Celebration of Life that was initially planned for July 25. It will be rescheduled for the summer of 2021, once things have, hopefully, settled down in the world and we can celebrate her life together, as she wished. Please pass this information on to anyone that you know who was planning to attend and please plan to join us next summer to celebrate Lorayne's beautiful life. *****
