Price, James Douglas, 83 of Paradise, Anna. Co passed away April 27, 2020 at home. Born in Middleton he was a son of the late Harold and Viola (Tupper) Price. Jim taught school for over 25 years in Halifax, MacDonald School in Middleton, was an exchange teacher in England and in many valley schools. He enjoyed his time serving in the Reserve Army with the Halifax Rifles and the West Nova Scotia Regiment. His interests included antique cars, photography, hockey games, gardening and his backyard chickens. Jim delighted in the “Prick Club” meetings around his kitchen table. He loved kids especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jim amazed us with his positive attitude and sense of humour even when in pain.
He is survived by his wife Diane (Ditmars), son Peter (Lori) of Lawrencetown, daughter Suzanne (Jeffery) Lorette of Stewiacke; grandchildren: Dillon, Sidney, Lynaya and Calen; sister Martha Montgomery and brothers Aubrey (Nancy) all of Paradise and Owen of North Bay, Ont. Besides his parents Jim was predeceased by his sister-in-law Hazel Price and brother-in-law Stuart Montgomery. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic a service celebrating Jim’s life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so. Donations in memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
