Sylvia, Ju and Chris-my heart is filled with sadness for you all. I can’t imagine how difficult this journey has been. I’ve spent the last few days reflecting on many fun and happy weekends spent in your home. Doug never failed to crack me up with his sense of humour. I loved those Dad jokes. You are all family to me and I wish I was there to wrap my arms around you. Love, Carrie xo

Ian and I were so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. We enjoyed seeing him and Sylvia at church, and Diana will miss him at Wednesday night Bible studies. He was such a kind, thoughtful, considerate man with a wry sense of humor. We know that he is with the Lord now, but recognizing this doesn't make the loss any easier for his family, who miss him. Sending Sylvia and family our heartfelt prayers and loving wishes.

Sylvia and family, my thoughts and heart go out to you all during this difficult time and those rough times that will come ahead. As you well know, it doesn’t get easier but it will get less hard. Look inside and find those special times that made you and Doug smile and hear that unforgettable laugh he had that came along with the devilish grin. When those two traits of his came out, I had to smile and wonder .... what’s next!!
I remember various times meeting for work related things that I’d say, why did you like working with government so much? He’d have that crazy laugh and broad grin and say.
“Someone has to keep them straight “.
He was and still is a real asset to this world in all aspects of life. His career, his family and friends and every life he touched. The strongest thing in life will get you all threw this, his love!!!

Dear Sylvia, Julie, Chris, Susan and Bruce, Larry and Susan, Dillin and Nicole,
Romans 12:15 says "Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn" and we join you in mourning the loss of Doug. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so thankful we were able to visit the summer of 2017 - what a blessing that was!
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (2 Thess. 2:16–17)
Love,
Pam, Elisabeth, Gary, Caleb and Evangelina
