Forbes, Karen Lorraine – 64, Burtts Corner, NB, passed away September 2, 2020 in Annapolis, NS. Born in Pembroke, Ontario, she was the daughter of David and Joan (Hicks) Chalmers. Karen was a member of many local clubs and volunteer organizations over the years, in the community of Burtts Corner, where she lived for the last 40 years. She also had an in home day care for many years. She was famous for sliding parties, her homemade pizza, Sunday suppers, loving her kids and grandkids and many, many friends. She was the anchor for the family and kept us all together. She only ever thought of others, and wanted nothing in return. She would go without so someone else wouldn’t have to. Karen is survived and missed by her husband, Bruce A. Forbes, Burtts Corner, NB; her children, Jason A. Davidson (Sheila), Harvey, NB; Jarret T. Forbes (Mary), Burtts Corner, NB; Laura G. Forbes-McAllister (Aaron), Geary, NB; Nicholas B. Forbes (Taylor), Burtts Corner, NB; her parents, David and Joan Chalmers, Deep Brook, NS; her grandchildren, Jade, Ethan, London, Gracie, Grey, Rhys, Myles, Lachlan; her siblings, Robert Chalmers (Cathy), Richard Chalmers (Gail), Gail Chalmers (Alex); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Leroy and Gwenlillian Hicks, Edward and Thelma Chalmers. There was a small ceremony held in NS with immediate family. As per her request, there will be no service in NB. Donations in Karen’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian or New Brunswick Mental Health Associations.
