My sincere condolences to Heather and Gerri and your families. Betty was a lovely lady, thoughtful and kind. I so enjoyed our occasional chats when she visited. Growing up in the neighbourhood she was always welcoming to all us kids! Mothers are special and as you face the days ahead please know my thoughts are with you.

Rest In Peace Aunt Betty. The time has come to once again be with Uncle Herman, the love of your life. It’s hard to fathom that you are the last of your generation of our branch of the Rushton family. Our numbers are dwindling. To Gerry, Terry, Heather, Royden, Beth, their children and their children - this most wonderful and kind woman may not be physically with us but she and her influence on us and others will never be forgotten. Please take care of each other for us. Love Carol Rushton-Culp and Larry Culp.

I am saddened to hear that Betty has passed. Our parents were best friends all those years ago as Dad and “Hermie” worked together at the Fire Department at Cornwallis. Sending love as you all navigate this new reality.

I stumbled into 4H ignorantly. Betty (or Mrs. Rushton as I called her at the time) was the leader of the Sun Valley Riders. 4-H defined who I was, and to this day , who I am. For that I will be forever grateful to her. RIP Mrs. Rushton - thank you.
