Obituary of Nancy Fleming
Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Fleming, Nancy Jeanette, of Bridgetown. It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Nancy on February 7, 2012, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Jack and Marie Troop, Nancy grew up with her brothers on the family farm in Granville Center. After moving to Halifax, she married Richard Fleming and they lived many happy years with their daughters in Ontario where she proudly worked for Hallmark Cards before retiring in Bridgetown. Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend, who always had a smile and a kind word for every person she met. She had a beautiful spirit and warmly welcomed all to her home morning, day or night. Her door was always open, and the coffee pot was always on. Nancy was an avid bridge player, rug-hooker and a true sports' fan. Go-Jay-Go! She enjoyed many hours' playing cards with family and friends, and rug-hooking and making other crafts. Nancy suffered with cancer for many years, but lived her illness in the same way she lived her life: with dignity, grace and a smile. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Richard and her dear daughter Lorelei, London, England, as well as her two brothers: John (Agnes), Upper Granville and Edward (Myrna) Bridgetown and her nieces (Stephanie, Jacalyn and Susan) and nephew (John) and their families. Nancy was predeceased by her beloved daughter Kimberly. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion she received throughout her illness. The family is eternally grateful for the generosity of spirit of Dr. Grant Goodine and the many caregivers and devoted friends who always gave Nancy their time and loving support. No visitation by request. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 10, 2012 at St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown with Reverend Joel Hardy officiating. A reception will follow immediately at the church hall. A private family burial will take place in Wadeville Cemetery, Granville Center. Family flowers only. Donations in Nancy's memory may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Victorian Order of Nurses. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown.
