Cranton, William James "Bill"- 80, of Belleisle, passed away peacefully in Annapolis Royal Nursing Home on February 13, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born March30, 1931, in Belleisle, he was the oldest son of the late Daniel David and Phyllis (Saunders) Cranton. Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator for many companies within the province and farmed for most of his life. He was a member of the Centenary United Church of Upper Granville until its closure and membership was moved to the William Black United Church of Bridgetown. He was a long standing member of the IOOF Valley Lodge in Lawrencetown. Bill was a very proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Philippa (Nickerson), daughters Dorothy (Allen) Hannam, Beaconsfield; Pamela (Grant) Courtney, Round Hill; Carolyn (Terry) Taylor, Granville Center; grandchildren Jennifer (Dorthan), Katelyn, Cole (Jenelle), Benjamin, Robbie (Sarah), Karen, Michelle, Mitchell, and Melissa; great grandchildren Immanuel and Matthew; brother David (Sharon) Cranton of Belleisle. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Vernon. Visitation will be held Thursday 7-9 from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2pm from the William Black United Church in Bridgetown, with Rev. Janis Campbell officiating. Reception will immediately follow the service. Interment will be in Wadeville Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their wonderful care and kindness shown to Bill and his family while he was a resident there for the past two years.
