Obituary of James Neil Cress
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Neil Cress (63) of Clementsvale, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Digby, NS on April 20th, 1958 to Fred and Lois (Harris) Cress.
Jim is survived by the love of his life Chris, they were happily married for 43 years. Together they shared this love with their pride and joy; their daughter, Ashley, and grandchildren; William and Grace. Everyone knew how proud Jim was of his family, the sparkle in his eyes and shining smile when he spoke of them said it all. Every night before going to sleep, he bid goodnight to them by saying “Good night Ash, Wonka Tonk and Grace, Papa loves you 50,000 plus.”
Jim worked for the Department of Transportation for 30 + years where he built lifelong friendships and was so proud of his job. Jim could also be found in the woods with his brothers, especially his brother and best friend; Ron. He also enjoyed a good cup of tea with his sister Lorna and brother-in-law Danny. The love and support of his siblings is something that every family dreams of having, this was never more evident than during his illness. Jim had a love for farming and the outdoors and was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand. We all knew that Jim was only a phone call away. Jim was the strongest, most selfless man; never complaining, even on his most difficult days.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Trimper), his daughter Ashley and his grandchildren William & Grace Barteaux, his parents; Fred & Lois (Harris) Cress, his siblings; Ron, Lorna (Danny) Trimper, Gary (Debbie), George (Cynthia) and Fred, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters in law; Lorayne Cress and Cynthia Peck-Cress.
