I’m sad to hear today of Lawrences passing. He kindly pulled me out of the ditch two years ago. I thought this is a man I’d like to know better and learn some local history too. My condolences to all.

So sorry to hear of Lawrence’s passing. I’ll surely miss him travelling our road. He was always ready to chat about something when he would come and mow the high grass for me. Would not take any payment just did it out of the goodness of his heart. A great historian and an icon of our community. Rest In Peace Lawrence and rise in Glory

Our sympathy to all Lawrence’s family and friends. It was a pleasure to know him. He was a storehouse of knowledge with a remarkable memory - and was as honest as the day was long. RIP Lawrence.

We send heartfelt condolences to Lawrence's family. He was a very special man. I remember seeing him with his beautiful horse and wagon over many years and it was always lovely to see them going about the work of haying, etc.. All who were lucky enough to have a chat with Lawrence always came away feeling like they had learned something. He knew more about the area than almost anyone.
He will be missed...

I would like to extend my condolences to Lawrence’s family. Lawrence was one of a kind, the hardest working human I have ever known, he was a true historian, with Lawrence passing we have all lost access to so much knowledge and local history, Lawrence had the ability to remember and recall the dates of so many historical events, shipwrecks, etc. Lawrence you will be missed by many more than you could have ever imagined. RIP my friend.
