Obituary of Philip Thomas Gallagher

It is with broken hearts we the family are announcing the passing of Philip Thomas Gallagher in his 2nd home Langford House, Tideview Terrace, Digby on January 16, 2022.Youngest son of the late John and Mary (Sugden) Gallagher, born in Annapolis Royal January 12, 1936, he graduated from ARHS and began a lengthy career in the financial field, which took him to several branches including four and a half years in International duties in New York City, NY, USA. He was a Kinsman in Sydney, Truro, and Bible Hill Clubs. The later of which he was a “Founding Member”. Also of the K40 in Saint John, NB. He enjoyed bowling, curling, baseball and especially golf, having been a member in each place he lived. He also coached Little League in Quispamsis, NB. He loved “the Lake” and retired there in 1999. Besides his parents Phil was predeceased by his brothers: Jack (Rhoda), Paul (Shirley), sister Margaret (Don) and infant brother , granddaughter Cameron Elaine “ Cammie Girl” at three and a half as well as many relatives including special cousin Camille, brothers-in-law Lloyd (Stella), Reg (Linda), and parents-in-law Ted and Nanie (Lohnes). He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Bernadette, sons John and Tom and daughter Cathy ( Jim), 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Tideview Terrace for the two and a half years of care and love. Also Paula, Mary and Joanne-special nieces who gave so much love and special memories. Phil was a member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal, a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight of the K of C Council (6633) Truro, NS. He enjoyed Country music especially Johnny Cash, good beer, and the cottage at Sandy Bottom Lake with family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life with a “get together” and burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Dalhousie Alzheimer’s Research or to a Charity of one’s Choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. **
