Our loss is Mrs. Ricketson's gain. I'm very thankful for her ministry, and that of Mr. Ricketson's, in my life. The youth group that they ran was so instrumental in my life - from non-believer, to saved! The witness of their family, with their love for God and each other, was what prompted me to really think about Christianity, and the difference which God can make in one's life, and in that of their family. I wanted that, for myself.
I have so many wonderful memories of being welcomed into their home to spend time with Nancy, and the youth. I remember how much my dad loved Mrs. Ricketson's strawberry jam. He said there was some winning combination between Mr. Ricketson's strawberries, and Mrs. Ricketson's jam-making!
I am so glad that Mrs. Ricketson is finally healed, and with her Lord.
Although we have hope, it's still so hard. So many memories, which have become bittersweet. I remember how so many things reminded me of my parents after they passed away, and how, even months later, I'd see something, and it would remind me of them, and I'd be crying again. I'm praying for all of the families, as they grieve - Nancy's, Carolyn's, and Charlie's, as well as the grandchildren's, and Mrs. Ricketson's siblings and families.
Love, Carol and Frank Brandon

I , too, was one of those “kids” that the Ricketsons lovingly took under their wing during their days as church youth group leaders in the 1970’s. Through this family I saw the love of God transparently lived out day by day. I saw biblical principles applied to everyday life, and my own life was forever changed when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord.
But the legacy of their Investment in youth lives expanded beyond that small teen group— touching future spouses and children, (including my own), to multiple generations!
I am eternally grateful for Mr. and Mrs. Ricketson, that they chose to serve others, following the footsteps of their Saviour.
So thankful that Dorothy will dwell joyfully for eternity in His loving presence!
With much love and hugs,
Tracy (and Scott) Nelson

Dear Lew, Charles, Carolyn, Nancy, and family, Jane and I send our sympathy, love, and prayers in Dorothy's passing. We have such precious memories of our times with you and Dorothy and your loving support and prayers. Christmas dinners, cherry pie, visits to the farm, ministry and day trips are just some of our memories. She was such a good cook and gracious host. Her faith in Jesus sustained her in life and death. Rest in peace Dorothy as you hear Jesus say, "Well done good and faithful servant." George and Jane Neily, Calgary, AB.

We will keep in our hearts Dorothy's smiles and laughter, that twinkle in her eye, her steadfast faith, her generous spirit, and, especially by her niece Susan!, her big, warm hugs. Our family is so lucky to have had Dorothy in it!
"Safe in the arms of Jesus, safe on His gentle breast, there by His love overshaded, sweetly her soul will rest".

To Lew and family,
I am sure Dorothy had a joyous homegoing, and I join you as you mourn the loss of her earthly presence. This lady (and Lew!) showed an enormous amount of lovingkindness to my family and she truly reflected her Lord and Saviour in all she did. She is missed, but we will meet again.
Most sincerely, Carolyn Young

The kindness person you would ever meet. She bore three wonderful children but she took into her heart a whole lot more including myself. She showed the unconditional love of Christ. She was a youth group leader extraordinaire in the 1970s and her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, sharing her faith with “all us kids”. She tried to teach me to sew - her one true failure. She played a mean game of solitaire and cooked the best beef tongue I never ate, but she let Nancy and I make pizza burgers every now and then. She is now in the absolute presence of Love.
