I passed Ellen's family home in Port Royal last week and wondered why the home looked so different and sad. I used to stop for a little chat on my way down to the river, but hadn't been there in the past two years. When I wanted to reach out to her, I discovered that Ellen (and also Phyllis) had died. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire Littlewood family.

I’m at Port Royal today and despite speaking with Ellen in April, didn’t know she passed. She used to make fudge for my Tauck Tour groups and I used to promote her Dad’s wind spinners for many years…he would sell out when my coach rolled in! I knew Boyd, Phyllis and Ellen and would love those visits in their home while the group was at The Habitation. The sweetest memories, of the sweetest people who treated this Newfie like family. Sending love and peace to the family, I will treasure those times.

I was so very sorry to hear of Ellen's passing. She was a lovely person and I always enjoyed seeing her, usually with Phillis, and we would have a little chat. Music was so important to us both and we shared Bill Stevenson's tuning of our pianos each summer, while Phillis regaled him with amusing stories which he so enjoyed as well.
She left us too soon, we know, but we are all glad to have known her. Heartfelt condolences to the family.

Very fond memories of Ellen. We lived together in Halifax for a number of years in the early 1970s as well as worked together at the Royal bank Chargex division for a year or so. Lots of laughs over those years! She was a good person. So sorry she had to deal with her mother passing away, who she cared for greatly, and with cancer. She loved that family home in Port Royal, such a lovely and peaceful spot on the annapolis river! She did so enjoy volunteering for church and other groups in the area and made significant contributions to their work. She has left us too soon, but is no longer in pain and angst. Sincere Condolences to her siblings. May she Rest In Peace.

I first met Ellen Littlewood in early 1980....she lived in the apartment above me in a heritage house on Queen Street in Halifax. She was delightful and welcoming, which I really appreciated as I was going through a divorce. We had the same interests in heritage and the preservation of Annapolis Royal and surrounding areas. She loved her Port Royal home....she will be truly missed. Peter and I send our condolences to the family.
