Obituary of Laurie Wallace Ruggles

Laurie Wallace Ruggles “Lor” – of West Dalhousie, NS, passed away at the age of 66, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on October 4, 2022.  He was the son of the late Donald and Olive (Barteaux) Ruggles.  Laurie worked in the woods for his whole life.  If he wasn’t working in the woods, you could still find him there reeling in a trout or with his sights on a deer.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors with his brothers and family. When he wasn’t spending time outside, you could find him sitting in his favourite chair watching wrestling or Yellowstone. Laurie was always the families go to “Mr Fix It” for anything mechanical and a partner you always wanted in a game of washers. He is survived by his brothers, Charles and John (Marj) Ruggles, of West Dalhousie; sisters, Alice and Donna (Jimmy) Ruggles of West Dalhousie; niece, Heather (Michael) D’Ambrose; nephew, Kevin (Melanie) Ruggles; great niece, Sierra (Jamie) Ring and great nephew, Austin Ruggles (Kailey Joudrey). Following Laurie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service, cremation has taken place under the care of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown.  Donations in memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  On line condolences may be made by visiting www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
