Obituary of Willis Rodney Young
It is with deepest loss we, the family, announce the passing of Willis Rodney Young age 86. Willis was born in Phinney Cove, NS on Nov. 18, 1936 to the late Cecil and Glendean (Potter) Young. He attended Bridgetown High School. He then worked for Richard Wagner for a number of years and drove an oil delivery truck for Esso. He then worked at Everett & Smith’s service station for a period of time. His real passion was fishing and he had his own lobster boat for several years before he retired. He was a self taught carpenter who could make and build just about anything. Willis loved camping which he did for over 40 years. He enjoyed weekly card games with his friends and was on a bowling team for a few years earning himself several awards. He loved to read and do Jigsaw puzzles in the winter and every hour not spent camping or working during the summer was spent working in his vegetable garden. Willis is survived by his beloved wife Deanna of 65 years, daughters: Natalie (Richard) and Monica, son Rodney (Carollee); granddaughter Hillary (Todd) grandsons Jared (Holly) and Nicholas, and step grandson Michael (Eleesha);great grand daughters Skye and Nevaeh; step great granddaughter Neko; brother Carl (Audrey). He was predeceased by son Tony, sister Lois (Beecher), brothers: Shirley and Jerry and grandson Anthony. Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown with Marilyn Kaulbach officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery.
