Obituary of Janet Louise Campbell
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janet Louise Campbell (Wetherbee) share her passing on January 21, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Her loving husband, of 56 years, Richard (Dick) Campbell remained by her side through it all. Despite her illness, she always found the beauty in life around her. Janet was born on October 13,1945 in Newport Rhode Island, USA. She was the second born daughter of Janet Wetherbee (Messinger) and Charles Brookings Wetherbee. At the age of 2, her family moved to Centrelea, NS where she lived until she married the love of her life. Dick and Janet moved to Bridgetown, NS where they first greeted a son and then shortly after 2 sets of twins, each 2 years apart, blessing them with 5 children under the age of 5. Though she had her hands full, she always found the time to offer lots of love, comfort, and encouragement to each one of her children. She was always there to offer support and volunteer her time to the many extracurricular activities her family participated in. Once her children were a little older, Janet went to work at Sears in Bridgetown and then later at the Bridgetown Pharmasave. Janet was a dedicated Christian to the St. James Anglican Church in Bridgetown. She loved her church family and found great pleasure singing in the choir. She was a member of the ACW group and devoted many hours to the Church.
Outside of being a dedicated community member, Janet enjoyed sitting on her front porch, spending time in her garden, decorating for the seasons, rug hooking with her Thursday morning friends at the Church, reading, going for evening strolls, baking sweet treats, and knitting socks for her 10 Grandchildren. In later years, Dick and Janet purchased their tiny camper and had many wonderful adventures together and with family.
She is survived by her life partner Dick, and their five children, Richard (Marian), Peter, Heidi (Marven) Taylor, Angela (Mathew), and Susanne (Shaunessey). Her Grandchildren, Emma (Nathan), Meghan (Patrick), Kyle, Maisie, Ben, Mollie, Nick, Hannah, Liam, and Aylish. As well as her Sister Patricia McFarlane, and in-laws, Judy (Murray) Freeman, Joan Campbell, and Steve (Rose) Campbell and many nieces and nephews.
