Obituary of Ronald Herbert Walker
Ronald Herbert Walker born October 5,1956 passed safely into the arms of Jesus his Saviour on February 6th at 12:52am. Ron married the love of his life Sheri on April 13th, 1996, and Ethan their son was born March 13th of 2007. Ron was a beautiful builder and constructed several churches with Labourers for Christ in British Columbia. After his body was "to broken" to build, he opened an antique shop with his wife, and honed his love of treasure hunting and old junk. In 2002, Ron and Sheri sold everything, and moved all the way to Nova Scotia from BC and opened up Beans Antiques in Wilmot and had their son Ethan. In 2014, they walked through the doors of Amazing Grace Baptist Church and found a home and family. Instrumental in the founding of Elbethel Bible Camp of West Dalhousie in 2015, Ron set aside his pain and took up the hammer again, and pounded out a place for people to meet God. He loved Elbethel. As his church expanded, Ron redirected his efforts to the church property and with love and care forged the current facility out of a pole barn. Ron's character is etched into the things he built with his hands. However, it wasn't until January 17th of 2023 that Ron saw that all his good could not merit him eternal salvation, and on that day, he placed his trust in Jesus alone for his salvation. If Ron could speak to you today he would tell you that it was the most important day of his life. Ron has gone home now, and has left with us his wife Sheri, son Ethan, and three remaining siblings. Celebration Service will be held at Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Upper Granville, Nova Scotia on Wednesday February the 8th at 2pm. Visitation will be at 12:30pm on February 8th. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Elbethel Bible Camp by check or by etransfer at elbethelbiblecamp@gmail.com
