Dexter (Grant) Ruth Aileen - 84, Granville Ferry passed away April 28, 2012, in the Annapolis Community Health Centre. Born in Clarence in the family home she was a daughter of the late Charles and Effie (Rhynard) Grant. Ruth played piano, made dresses, and worked helping the neighbors as a child. She was a hard worker having grown up in a large family. Ruth taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and played the organ when needed. She enjoyed gardening and playing golf. Ruth loved antiques and had an Antique Shop and Museum in her home called the Hanna Hill House which she ran for a number of years. She recycled cards for over 40 years sending them to family and friends all over the world. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Harold; sons, Carl (Susan) Dexter of Bridgetown; Gerry (Lynn) Dexter of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Barbara, Angela, Mark, Justin and Scott; great grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Logan and Samuel; sisters, Doris Durling , Annapolis Royal, Joyce Wiles , Calgary, Mary Boates , Berwick, Gladys Gates, Hampton, N.B.; brothers, Kenneth, Bridgetown. She was predeceased by sisters: Myrna Oickle, Idella Taylor; brothers, George, Eddie, Joseph and Freeman. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1st, from the Granville Ferry Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Reid officiating followed by a reception in the church hall. Private family interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Ruth's memory may be sent to the Baptist Churches in Annapolis Royal, Granville Ferry and Granville Center, the Hampton Baptist Church or to the Annapolis Community Health center Palliative Care Unit.
