Dear Carys and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I think I was the second to follow him as Pastor of the Annapolis Baptist Pastorate and throughout my seven years as Pastor there, stories were still being told about him. All the stories were of good memories filled with love and appreciation for both Bob and you (Carys). I only ever heard Bob preach a couple times; but each time I was thoroughly impressed by the content of his message and by the easy manner in which he delivered it. I have no doubt that his life was well-lived. He will be missed by many.... though none as much as by you who are family. May you hold to the faith by which he lived and find peace in the comfort and promises of the God He loved and served. Sending love and prayers.

Recently I was talking with Libby and Francis Ryan, reminiscing about our monthly dinner gatherings with you and Bob ,Alex and me at our CB homes…. the talks we had, , our children’s friendships, our common milestone life events. How grateful I am for the life experiences we shared in those years. I send my love and deep sympathy to you at this difficult time. Carolyn MacDonald

Elaine and I are saddened with the news of Bob’s passing.
We have very fond memories of the time spent in Goose Cove. Delivering hay for the cattle was always a delight. We looked forward to home made cookies, tea and a great conversation. Our relationship grew with Bob and Carys over the years, we had many deep conversations about our faith in Jesus. We have this firm assurance that we will see him again one day.
Elaine & I express our deep sympathy to Carys and their family.
Micah 6:8 “The Lord has already told you what is good, and this is what he requires; to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

I was always honored to call Bob Reid my friend. He was a good man, a good, good man. Some of my fondest memories from days in Centerville were times when I got to hang out with Bob. We were kindred spirits. He was a man of integrity, intellectual curiosity, multi-talented and genuine. Over the years, we had many good times together, first in Centerville, and then Cape Breton and finally South Range. He is very missed.

A wonderful Uncle who I remember taking me out on his motorbike when I came over to visit with my brother Tom in 1982. Riding through the forest roads was quite a thrill and the first time I had been on a motorbike. I absolutely loved spending time with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins in Nova Scotia.

Bob was a fountain of knowledge and help when we moved to St.Ann's Bay in 1985. We spent many hours at his hobby farm watching the cattle and geese and missed him when he went to the Valley. We then had to start plowing our own driveway! Our sympathies go out to Carys.

My very deepest sympathy to dear Carys & all the Family in the passing of Pastor Bob. I have so many wonderful memories of our conversations, laughs, and prayers while he was our minister "down home" in the St. Ann's charge. He was such a blessing to all with his kind spirit, gentle manner and certainly his sense of humour to bring light even to rough situations.
God has indeed received a precious soul, and I pray His comfort on all of you as you grieve his passing. As Pastor Bob would say, "Keep smiling until we meet again."
