Obituary of Patsy Lynn Power

Please share a memory of Patsy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Patsy Lynn Power announces her sudden passing on March 31st 2023, at the age of 76 years old.   Pat was born August 1 1946, in Kingston N.S., the 2nd of 3 daughters, of the late Perley and Bessie MacAulay, of Annapolis Royal.

Her family moved to Annapolis Royal while the girls were young, and Pat spent her formative years involved in many school activities and sports. After graduating from Annapolis Royal Regional Academy, she took a bookkeeping course in Halifax and worked throughout her adulthood, facilitating payroll for the Halifax District School Board and eventually, upon returning to Annapolis Royal in 1985, with the Annapolis District School Board and also the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre.   Pat was a lifelong member of First United Baptist Church of Annapolis Royal, where she was Treasurer and Moderator for many years. Upon retirement, she was a Town Councillor and Deputy Mayor of the Town of Annapolis Royal from 2008 until her passing.  Pat greatly relished her participation in community affairs and remained active with several committees and volunteer positions throughout her life.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by husband Len, and sisters Beth and Brenda. Surviving are son Steven, daughter Rhonda (Masahiro) Terada and grandchildren, Hana and Matthew.

Pat always balanced her time well between commitments and her family, who were a source of great joy.  Trips to Newfoundland to visit her husband’s relatives, and further afield to Japan and Ireland were often subjects of many family conversations and remembered fondly.

In lieu of flowers, at Pat’s request, memorial donations would be gratefully accepted for First United Baptist Church of Annapolis Royal. PO Box 63, Annapolis Royal NS B0S 1A0.

A service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at the First United Baptist Church on Saturday April 08th at 11:00 am, followed by a gathering in the Christian Education Centre, attached to the church.  All are welcome. Online condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com
