Obituary of Dorothy Ethelyn Longmire

Longmire, Dorothy Ethelyn – 97, of Annapolis Royal, passed away peacefully May 9, 2023, in Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, where she received extraordinary care. Born in Margaretsville, July 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Mosher) and Eldridge Wile.

Dorothy married Adelbert Longmire in 1945, and she lived in Annapolis County her entire life. She belonged to the Women’s Missionary Society for over 30 years, and was a member of the Litchfield Baptist Church and in later years joined the Annapolis Royal Baptist Church.

Dorothy will be greatly missed by daughters, Verna (Ernest) Turner, Litchfield, Suzette (Alan) Morrison, Karsdale; sons, Sidney (Sherry) Longmire, Digby, Lloyd (Karen) Longmire, Smiths Cove, Danny (Jewel) Longmire, Alberta; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Adelbert; grandson, Zachary; sister, Jennie Halliday.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
