Where do I even begin. I met Dawn back in 1971 when my family moved to Lower Sackville. Dawn's family lived across the street from us and Dawn and I became friends right away. Dawn and I basically grew up together, her family treating me like a daughter and my family treating Dawn like a daughter. We were inseparable, although there were always bumps and arguments, mostly over stupid things like most kids argued over. Holding Barbie's ransom or placing Barbie items in the path of danger. When we were in our pre teen years and got our allowances on Saturdays, Dawn and I would walk to the Green Gables at the top of Riverside Drive and each buy a bottle of pop, a bag of chips and a vachon cake.
We had the same circle of friends from Aspen Crescent....Mike, Miles, and Gary and Troy were who we spent most of our time with. We would spend hours in the woods or just hanging on the wall just down our street. Every family knew every family so someone always knew where we were and who we were with and what we were doing.
Dawn moved onto high school before I did and didn't see each other a lot through the week, but we did catch up on the weekends. She was my maid of honor at my wedding and I was one of her bridesmaids at her wedding.
Dawn, Hal, Jack and I would get together every weekend for game night. One week at their home, the next at ours. We had tons of fun, just the four of us. After Dawn, Hal and Danny moved to Westphal we sort of lost touch. Now that Dawn has passed away, I kick myself for all the lost time, that I didn't work hard enough at to do anything about. I will never forget you Dawn. You were my first friend in Sackville, then you were my best friend, my confidant and as close as a sister could possibly be. I will miss you but I know that when my time comes around, I will see you again. It's inevitable.....you can't get rid of me. I love you Dawn.....give Danny a hug for me.

Dawn has always held a special place in my heart. My fondest memory of her is of her being the flower girl at Gordon's and my wedding. Just 6 years old, her sweet little face with sparkling eyes and charming smile, brings a smile to my face each time I look at the photo of our wedding party. I thank the Lord for Dawn.
With love from Aunt Joyce

My sincere condolences to Dawn's family. I knew Dawn many years ago when we worked at ABM in Dartmouth. This is where she met Hal. Hal came to work with me at Sobeys in Stellarton and I had caught up with Dawn again. Our team was devastated when Hal passed and we knew it would not have been an easy time for Dawn. I was not aware of Daniel's passing.
Sincerely,
Ann McCarten

Sorry to hear of Dawns passing. I also went to Sackville High but I remember Dawn mostly from her dental visits with Dr. Camp. Dawn was a very loving person and always took the time to say hello . We knew of her diagnosis and eventually she stopped coming to the office and we lost touch with her. Our condolences go out to the family.

Dawn's mischievous smile seemed to start in her eyes and slowly spread down to her lips until there it was - full of fun and beautiful to behold.
