Obituary of Louis Joseph Thibodeau
Thibodeau, Louis Joseph – 93, Bridgetown, formerly of Granville Ferry, passed away peacefully August 9, 2023, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born November 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Isaac and Margaret Jane (Scragg) Thibodeau.
Louis worked for many years driving school bus and selling cars for Clyde Baltzer in Annapolis Royal and then for Donnie Wright in Upper Clements. Before retiring he worked for Bay of Fundy Fisheries. Louis was an excellent self-taught handy man, who had a great passion for carpentry. He was an avid hunter, a hobby farmer and a proficient gardener, who had huge gardens that he took great pride in. Being a well-known and respected man, he was also a very hard worker, had a great sense humor, and was a great friend. Above all, he was a caring and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Louis is survived by his wife, Goldie; sons, Paul (Lois), Granville Ferry, Stephen, Annapolis Royal, Danny (Wanda), Young’s Cove; grandchildren, Bruce, Brandon, Brianne and Justin; six great grandchildren; brother, William. Besides his parents he was predeceased by siblings, Effie, Lynn, Marty and Frank.
A funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday August 12, 2023 from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Father Michael Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Annapolis Royal. Donations in Louis memory may be made to St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Annapolis Royal.
