Norma. Very sorry to learn of John's passing. I knew you both as being very friendly. Laurie spoke very highly of him. He will be missed around the Park and elsewhere. All the best.

My dad was the best! His love and guidance always was there. He was an extremely smart man! His humour was incredible! Above anything he put his family. He and my mum met 64 years! What an example! Dad, thank you for loving me and showing me the better way! I will forever miss you! You were my hero! Love joanne

We were shocked and saddened to hear that John had passed away. We have known John and Norma for well over 60 years. They were our best friends and in the 1960s we all lived in Ascot, Berkshire, UK. John and Graham both had scooters then and after work they would sometimes get their spades and dig other peoples gardens for extra cash. They would earn £5 between them. In those days money was tight. When they moved to Canada we kept in touch by letter and photographs and when we finally had a computer we face timed them. In 2005 John and Norma invited us to stay with them in Cornwallis. They gave us a wonderful 2 weeks with them. It was a holiday of a lifetime. John had a lot of problems healthwise in his life but we never ever heard him complain. He was a great guy, one of the best, and had an even greater sense of humour. We shall miss our chats when he and Graham would always put the world to right. So au revoir John. May you rest in peace. We will miss you.
Our love and sincere condolences to Norma, Joanne and Andrew.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a good man in the truest sense of what it means to be a good person. I can still hear that infectious laugh and that ever present English wit as he would deliver one of his classic lines: “You’re a scholar and a gentleman; and a fine judge of horses.”
I have no doubt that God was waiting for John with open arms. Our sincerest condolences to Norma, Joanne and Andrew.

My deepest condolences. It was a genuinely profound joy to have known and worked with John. His wit and humour were always present, as was his professional and personal support. I owe so much to the help and guidance he gave me, and will miss him deeply.

Although we weren't much older than their kids, Christine and I thought of Norma and John as friends. It has been too long since our last meeting. It was due to John's influence that I started at Michelin, first as a contractor and then as an employee. It was a sad day when John was posted to Granton. You are missed.

We live in Ontario now but we were privileged to have met John in Cornwallis Park where we lived for many years. John was such a gentleman and I remember with his wisdom how he encouraged my son who wanted to be an electrician. Well that boy is a Master electrician now and loves what he does. John always seemed to love whatever he was doing. Our deepest condolences to Norma and the family. He touched so many lives and will be missed.
Sincerely, Wendy Smith and Frank Strehle

John was one of those men that you could not dislike , he had a spontaneous sense of humour and mixed it well with professionalism in his job. He attended many of our retiree meetings at Paddy's pub in Kentville , l looked forward to those nights with him, we had many good laughs from John . A sad time all that knew him , he will be greatly missed by many . Rest in peace my friend and my condolences to Johns family far and wide.

Saddened to learn of John’s passing. We worked closely together for many years at the Waterville Michelin site. We’ve stayed in contact with each other in our retirement years. I visited John this past summer and when we were reviewing each others health issues ( that’s what us old folks do) John summarized his health by saying “I’m knackered”
Always one for a good story, a joke or serious conversation.
Our sincere condolences to the family.
You will certainly be missed
Sorry

John was such a great man. I remember being on course at AP School, every morning I would bring in a newspaper for him. I think it made it a little easier on all of us on course as he would give us a project to do while he sat back and browsed the paper, lol. He will forever be remembered fondly. RIP John

Although I didn't work directly with John my fondest memories are those gatherings at Paddy's Pub organized by Conrad. He had a delightful sense of humour! Always enjoyable when he attended!! Condolences to the whole family and especially Phil!

Sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with John at Michelin for many years. We, along with brother Phil, spent time in Clermont in late 1981 before coming to the Waterville plant for start-up. We enjoyed many happy days as we got the new plant up and running. John joined us often at our Old Michelin Guys gatherings at Paddy's Pub in Kentville. A talented electrical person, he will surely be missed by all of us. Conrad LeLièvre
