Obituary of Susan Smith
Susan Smith passed away in her home surrounded by love with her husband, 3 daughters, brother, and sister in-law on February 8, 2024, at the age of 70.
Susan was born in Hemingfield South Yorkshire, England on April 17, 1953. She was married to her husband Graham Smith on Sept 2, 1972. Shortly after Sue and Graham moved to beautiful Grande Cache Alberta Canada from England Sept 4, 1974.
Sue worked many jobs. The jobs that she is most remembered for is being the cheery secretary at the Grande Cache Elementary School, later working as a member of the public service for Correctional Services Canada at the Grande Cache Institution up to retirement (17 years).
Sue and her husband Graham went to visit family in Nova Scotia and fell in love with the province. They ended up buying a home in Bridgetown and retired and have lived there for the past 11 years.
During her retirement after moving to Bridgetown N.S she joined the Garden Club, TOPS, Bridge Club, and volunteered at the Food Bank. She had a great love for musicals, live theatre, gardening, and of course playing cards.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Ernest & Anne Lee.
She is survived by her husband Graham Smith; 3 daughters Chastity Repetowski (James), Amber Livingston (Kenneth), Lauren Smith (Melody); 7 Grandchildren, Mikala Cross, Alexandria Pratt (Anthony), Anthony Smith, Austin Repetowski, Jack Repetowski, Hunter Livingston, and Quinn Moronchuk; 5 Great Grandchildren, London Braun, Tucker Braun, Hayleigh Braun, Charlie Smith and Havanna Smith; 2 sisters Pamela Ward (Ian), Christine Tindale (Eric); 1 Brother Michael Lee (Linda) and many nieces and nephews.
Following Sue’s request, a visitation will be held from 7- 9 pm, Monday, February 12, with a Celebration of Life held on Tuesday February 13, 2024, at 2pm, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown, 385 Granville Street, Bridgetown, Nova Scotia B0S 1C0 (902-665-4497). All are welcome to attend
