I was very saddened to hear that Bob had passed. For over twenty years, he and i were friends and colleagues in the Department of Fisheries. We kept up the friendship afterwards. We had common interests in art and history and shared many jokes.. I will miss his friendship

Sorry for your loss Dunfield family!
Was in school, maybe same class with Bob at some point, in PRHS!
Remember a very jovial guy!!
Wish I had known .. that he was in the Wolfville area (as I was there frequently in years past for Acadia Alumni and football events! and re salmon - our son, Bill T. is soon retiring as President of Atlantic Salmon Federation!
Think his mother may have been a teacher, and would have known my Mum, Frances T ... in any case, Mrs Dunfield always spoke to me whenever our paths crossed at PRHS or in Petty!!

I am deeply saddened to read of Bob’s passing. Bob and I first met when we were at UNB in forestry and became close friends, sharing our interest in northern Canada. We both eventually ended in fisheries research and management. Bob met very interesting people in the Arctic while fur trading for “The Bay”, including dining with Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, the famous legless Spitfire pilot. I enjoyed Bob’s sense of humour and his uniquely soft tunes on the harmonica while camping in the deep snow. My condolences to dear Lillian and their large family, which will bring peace to all.
With Affection,
Paul and Judy Brodie

Hi Debra. It was with sadness I read that your Dad “Bob” had died. Remember him well and the fun we had in our painting group, a long time ago! He was a talented artist and shared it with others. Know how close you were and wanted to send our condolences to you and your family.

Many thanks to Bob (and Lillian) for the love and the generosity with which they poured into mine and Kerri's lives, and later into that of our children when we would visit them in Karsdale. Over the years they have blessed us with their friendship (though I still want to call them Mr. & Mrs. Dunfield!) clocks, conversation, delicious meals, Christmas trees, fun hikes on the hill, rocket launches, and most recently camping in our trailer on their lawn. My only regret is that we didn't visit much since Covid hit. Here are a few pictures, Bob & Lil and my boys enjoying Lillian's cooking!

One of my first visits I told you that “you had a really nice place, but it was too far of a drive so I won’t be back.” I’m very thankful that I changed my mind and you were able to share so many stories and laughs with me. Memories I will always cherish. You will be dearly missed Uncle Bob.

i was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I recall fondly our time together on the Board of Directors of AHS. It was he who proposed the name Annapolis Heritage Society when the board decided a name change for the organization was in order. Always thoughtful and pleasant in our dealings, and always worth listening to- he was a true gentleman.
