Obituary of Lila Adelaine Bartlett

It is with heavy hearts  that we announce the passing of  Lila Adelaine Bartlett (Marshall) March 9, 1938 to May 4 , 2024 of Annapolis Royal , at the age of 86 at the Heart of the Valley Nursing Home, Middleton, Nova Scotia.  Born in Middleton, she was the daughter of Otto and Elsie (Banks) Marshall. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Thomas Bartlett and sister, Freda Sinclair, Ontario. She is survived by sisters, Velma, Reede Ontario; Minnie Daniels, Halifax and Edith Mailman, Alberta; daughter,  Karen (Edson) Hankinson, Victoria Vale;  son, Michael (Wanda) Bartlett, Digby; grandchildren, Richard (Katie) Greene Middleton, Gillian (Terrance) Lobe, Cold Lake, AB, Abbie Hankinson, Middleton; six great grandchildren,  Carter, Cameron, Hailey, Spencer, Tom, Charlie, Jake, Brandi; extended family Lorrie (Alec) Penny, Tremont and family.  Retired Stenographer, Annapolis Royal Courthouse. Lila worked for Family and Children’s Services, Fort Anne and the Tourist Bureau of Annapolis Royal. She was a member of the Red Hatters, Saint Luke’s Ladies Auxiliary and Hospital Auxiliary Bridge Club.  Nothing brought her more happiness than times spent with family and grandchildren- decorating cakes for all occasions, costume making for Natal day children's parade and Halloween. She had a great love for Christmas, she loved to quilt, knit, and garden.  The family would like to Thank Dr. Michelle Saxon and the staff of Heart of Valley and Pearl Lee for the extra TLC they gave to Mom these last few weeks.  A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday May 8, 2024, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lequille, with Reverend Leon Langille officiating. Following a reception will be held at the Bartlett Residence - 83 Victoria St. Annapolis Royal. Family flowers only and donations made to charity of your choice.
