Obituary of Joshua Stephen Orde
Joshua Stephen Orde
August 19, 1985 – June 12, 2024
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son, Joshua Stephen Orde to a short difficult battle with cancer on June 12, 2024 with his loving girlfriend and best friend, Samantha Gillis by his side.
Josh graduated from Kingstec NSCC in 2006 Truck and Transport/Heavy Duty Equipment Repair Diploma (2 Years). He then went on to work for Dexter’s Construction Company Limited, Rocky Lake, Halifax (April 2006 – 2012) where he worked for six years as an apprentice. In June 2011, he obtained Truck and Transport Journeyman license (Red Seal Mechanic). May 2012 – 2016 he worked for V.J. Rice Concrete Ltd. Bridgetown, where he trained other apprentices. 2016 – 2018, for Nautical Seafood’s Parker Mountain Road. In 2018, Josh became the founder and owner of Ordes Truck and Trailer Repair with clientele of local businesses including Annapolis Royal Fire Department, Lawrie Group, Delaps Cove Fish Products, Nautical Seafood’s, Municipality of the County of Annapolis, Fraser Pro Home Centre and other small business in the area.
Josh loved Life, all things nature, Auntie Rae’s blueberry cake, Grammie Leone’s Cinnamon buns, living in the area, spending time with his many buddies and family, and most of all his girlfriend and best friend, Sam Gillis and his driving companion Koda, hanging out the window. The highlight of the week would be going to the Snap On truck to purchase new tools on Tuesdays.
Josh is survived by his loving parents, Stephen and Holly Orde, Parker Mountain Road; brother, Evan; Loving girlfriend, Samantha Gillis; Grandfather, Eric Orde; Uncles and Cousins, Craig, Sienna, Australia, Ashley (Raelene), Samantha (Austin and William), Chasity (Tyler and Atlas), Noah (Olivia), Anthony, Aaron (MacKenize), Natasha (Logan) and MacKenize (Ben), Parkers Cove. Predeceased by his grandparents, Arlen and Ann Robinson and Joan Orde.
Special thanks to staff at Rylo Gas (Granville Ferry) for the cup on the counter and Tina Halliday for the Go Fund Me Fundraiser. To Bruce’s Auto Group for allowing Sam Gillis the time to be with her best friend during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkers Cove Cemetery or the Annapolis Royal Volunteer Fire Department.
A funeral Service will take place at 2pm, Saturday August 24, 2024 in the Parkers Cove Baptist Church, with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. A private family burial will take place following the service. A reception will be held at the church.
