My sympatthy to the whole family. I did not hear of Phyllis' passing until after the service so I could not offer my sympathies in person. Phyllis was a good neighbour and a great friend to my family. She was my Aunt Phyl when I was a little girl and someone I always enjoyed visiting with when I was home visiting. Her smile, the twinkle in her eye and her kindness are things I will remember.

To the Read Family.
Phyllis was a beautiful and gracious lady. We were privileged to know her for many years. We last saw her during the 200th anniversary celebration of the Bear River Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed our visit across the table during the luncheon.
Every time we saw her was special.
Sincere condolences to the family. May you be comforted by "the God of all comfort".

Phyllis was one of those "where do you start" people. She added so much to our community, especially for us who were blessed to be part of her church family. Faithfulness, wisdom, kindness - the list could go on. Each one of her church family has been touched by her love and we are poorer for the loss. But, we can rejoice with her family in that she had complete faith in her Lord and Savior and His plan for her. Thank you God for sharing Phyllis with us for all these years. Thank you to her wonderful family for honoring her wish to stay in her home as long as she was able. Your support for her has been everything a mother would wish for. We have been blessed.

Our sincere condolences to the Read family,
Your mother was a wonderful lady, always with a twinkle in her eye, she had something good to say, an encouraging word and a smile to go along with it all. She contributed to the community of Bear River in so many positive ways and set a wonderful example for the rest of us to follow. We all loved her dearly and she will be missed.
With love and prayers,

Oh Dear Phyllis, how I will miss your beautiful smile and your kind heart. I have known Phyllis for many years in the Bear River Baptist Church, as well as the Bear River Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. We always had great times together in the kitchen and at the Sunday school picnics. Phyllis always loved to play scrabble, I was lucky enough to be on her list of players when they added the game to Facebook years ago. Phyllis made the most amazing sweets and baked goods and I will never forget her homemade Quince jelly! We will always remember these wonderful things about you, your family loved you so. Everyone you ever met thought the world of you Phyllis, Rest in Peace my dear friend! ❤️

We are so sorry to hear of Phyllis’ passing and offer her family and friends our sincere condolences. Phyllis was a lovely lady and always so friendly. My granddaughter an me would go there to pick rhubarb and always had a good chat with her. Brianna would say “gram” I just love this place, wouldn’t I love to live here. She told Phyllis how much she loved it and Phyllis told her to come back anytime and visit. She will certainly be missed as she was one of the last older people in the village. A wealth of knowledge has left us .

We are so sorry to learn that Phyllis has passed away. We have many memories of her and Thelbert from our square dance days in the 60's-sharing her baking talents at lunch, sometimes a rhubarb custard pie! Phyllis has been a good friend and neighbour who will be remembered for her love of her family and caring for others, her bright smile and quiet voice. We send our deepest sympathy to her family.
