Obituary of Robert Wayne Fadelle
Fadelle, Robert (Bob) Wayne – of Annapolis Royal passed away, August 14, 2024, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Anthony (1958) and Evelyne (2015) Fadelle of Strathroy, Ontario.
Robert was the devoted loving husband of 37 years to his late (2021) wife Patricia Fadelle (Goucher). He served with the Canadian Armed Forces 1956-1976, retiring as Petty Officer 1st Class. He followed that with stints as an entrepreneur, operating a garage and an oil supply business, and working with the Department of National Defense until 1994.
Bob displayed a life-long interest in sports both as a fan & participant (where he excelled in swimming, hockey and baseball; playing on several championship teams, outliving virtually all his teammates!). His hobbies were centered around things he could do with his hands such as golf, gardening, building, constructing models, and performing repairs when needed.
He is survived by his brothers Ken (Toronto), Norman (Mahomet, Illinois) and Terry (Grand Bend, Ontario); his grandchildren: Alex Hoskins (Nanaimo, BC), Noel Wade (Annapolis Valley); great grandchildren: Jasper Hoskins, Declan Hoskins, Rexton Hoskins, -Kingston Walker-Hill, Lexi McGuffie; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Special thanks to Sue Long for being a great friend, caring for Robert till his final days.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family burial. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Nova Scotia (or to the charity of one’s choice) in honour of his late wife, Patricia.
