Obituary of Thomas 'Sam' Bruce McPherson

Please share a memory of Thomas 'Sam' to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

McPherson, Thomas Bruce “Sam” – of Annapolis Royal passed away suddenly on September 23, 2024. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Born June 7, 1956, he was the son of the late Thomas (1996) and Shirley (2012) McPherson (Slaunwhite) of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Sam was the devoted loving husband of 47 years to his wife Donna McPherson (Hemsworth). He had many hobbies, with a passion for motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting, and scuba diving, and was always a source of positivity and sense of humor. He was also extremely proud of his career and self-run business in carpentry and flooring. Anyone who knew Sam, knew that he lived life to the fullest and was caring, adventurous, a true family man (best dad ever), and would do anything for anybody. His smile and laughter would light up the room. Sam’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna, children Jason (Pam) of Middleton, and Dawn Baillie (Chad) of Greenwood, grandchildren Tylor, Joy, Tristan, Hailey, Nathan, Emma, and Trenton, and great-grandchild Breanna, sister Belinda Preston (John) of Halifax, and brother Kevin of Halifax, sister-in-law Terry McPherson, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, mother, and brothers David "Davy" and George.

Arrangements are under the care of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, 190 St. Anthony Street (Annapolis Royal), 902-532-7555, where a celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 30th between 2-4pm. We invite any family or friends to drop by and share a story or special moment they’ve had with Sam over the years.
