Grace Myrtle (Mailman) (Hannam) Starratt, Age 91, of Bridgetown, N.S. passed away September 25, 2024, surrounded by love and family at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton, N.S.  Daughter to the late William Holland “Holly” Mailman and Sarah Louisa Mailman of Greywood, N.S. Grace was raised from the age of 3 by her uncle Clarence William Mailman and Aunt Ida Mae Mailman in Moschelle, N.S.

Grace was a hard-worker, and spent most of her working career at Britex and Mountain Lea Lodge.  Anyone who knew Grace can attest to her absolute Love of Pepsi; her favourite pass times were knitting and playing Bingo.  

Grace is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughters Cathy (Nick) Racco, Ontario;  Karen (Kevin Hudgins) Bent, Young’s Cove;  Marjorie (John) Ruggles, West Dalhousie;  Patricia “Pat” Durling, Aylesford;  Nancy Dean, Alberta. Grandchildren Argentina Racco, Ontario;  Cassandra (George) Papadopoulos, Ontario;  Timothy “Tim” (Amy Himmelman) Bent, Phinneys Cove;  Shelley (Scott Hewey) Bent, Melvern Square; Heather (Mike) D’Ambrose, West Dalhousie;  Kevin (Melanie) Ruggles, West Dalhousie; Kimberly “Kim” Durling (Seldon) Margretsville;  Jennifer (Daniel) Cox, Halifax; Tamara Potter, Alberta;  Kyle Creemer, Waterville.  Several great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. 

Grace was pre-deceased by her first husband, Edward Lewis “Jack” Hannam; daughter Jacquelyn “Jackie” Carol (Hannam) Creemer; sisters Mary (Tilly) Matilda Mailman; Ella Jane Mailman; Kathleen (Kate) Mailman; brothers Clarence (Wilbert) Mailman and Vernon Mailman; Uncle, Clarence William Mailman; Aunt, Ida Mae Mailman.  Grace was also pre-deceased by her best friends and loyal companions (Yorkies) Benji and Daisy Mae.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home.  As per Grace’s wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service and a private family burial will take place.
