Gillis, Carrie Elaine - 77, of West Dalhousie, Annapolis Co., passed away peacefully November 14, 2012, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Carrie loved life, and especially life on the farm with Winks, she often recalled fond memories of family and friends. Family was most important to Carrie; she was a devout mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her second family at Crosskill Court and really appreciated their companionship. Carrie is survived by her daughter, Shirley Anne (Alex Keeping); brothers, Ray; Gerald (Eileen); sister, Ruth (James Evans); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Carrie was predeceased by her husband Freeman "Winks"; sons, Murray and Ralph; sister, Olive; brother, Murray. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Sunday, November 18, with a funeral service held 2 pm Monday, November 19, Rev. Joel Hardy officiating, both from Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. Burial will follow in St. Barnabus Cemetery, West Dalhousie.
