Guest, Margaret Jane, 79, of West Dalhousie wife of the late Morris Guest passed away peacefully at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown on February 8, 2013. Born in West Dalhousie she was the loving daughter of the late Hallett and Evelyn Hannam. Always the first to help anyone in need, Margie was a true friend to all. This was exemplified throughout her life as she cared for family while serving her church and community. As a member of the West Dalhousie Baptist Church, she devoted her time as Deacon, past-treasurer, past-president of the Women's Missionary Society and member of the "Do Your Bit" Club. In her community she fund raised on behalf of the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society and volunteered in many community projects. Mom enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, attending her bird feeders, quilting, knitting , and welcoming all who visited her home to a piece of her famous chocolate cake. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family and serving God. Survived by her children: Natalie (Joseph) Johnson of Clarence, Alwilda (Robert) Sweet of Falmouth, Sheldon (Janice) Guest of West Dalhousie; grandchildren: April (Troy McKeough) Bailey of Greenwood, Ryan Bailey of West Dalhousie, Emily (Michael Kretz) Sweet of Toronto, Greg Sweet of Toronto; great granddaughter: Carly Grace McKeough of Greenwood; sister Maureen (Owen) Wade of Parkers Cove. She was predeceased by her husband Morris (1996); siblings Vernon, Perley, Leona, Leon and Gary. The family wishes to say a very special thank you to Dr. Grant Goodine for his excellent care of Mom over the years. Our appreciation is extended to the staff of Mountain Lea Lodge and Saunders Rest Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown where visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday from the West Dalhousie Baptist Church with Rev. David Cumby officiating, followed immediately by the committal service with burial in the church cemetery. Donations in memory may be sent to the West Dalhousie Baptist Church.
