Walker, Laura Agnes, 81, of Carleton Corner passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2013. Born on April 24, 1931 in Upper Granville, she was a daughter of the late John and Una (Durling) Barteaux. In her younger years, she enjoyed skating and playing women's hockey. She loved making and sharing her jams, jellies and pickles. She enjoyed chats on the phone with her sisters and best friend Joyce. Knitting, gardening (her roses and hollyhocks) baking and cherished weekends with her granddaughter were special for Mom. Mom worked for Graves Riteway and later Graves Save-Easy, Bridgetown. Laura is survived by her cherished family; husband John of 62 years; daughter, Susan (Terry) Bent of Lawrencetown; grandson, Johnny of Cambridge and son, Peter (Joanne) Walker and granddaughter, Amanda of Bridgetown as well as brothers, Raymond and Andrew; sisters, Ruby, Muriel and Mary. She was predeceased by a brother, Francis; sisters, Kay, Millie, Margaret and Shirley. Mom will be forever in our thoughts and memories. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Family interment will be at a later date. A celebration of Mom's life will be held at the Bridgetown Fire Dept. on March 23, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. Donations in memory may be sent to the Annapolis Co.
