McLeod, Raymond Francis - 96, of Annapolis Royal, passed away June 21, 2014, in Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal. Born in Wittenburg, Colchester County, he was a son of the late Norman and Viola (Ellis) McLeod. Raymond fought in the Second World War and was a member of the Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment. He was an unassuming man who was quiet, loving, caring and who was generous to everyone. He enjoyed his job as a heavy equipment operator; he had a lifelong fascination with how machinery worked. Raymond enjoyed woodworking and making birdhouses. He is survived by his daughter, Frances Rafuse; two grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Rita Taylor, Ethel McIsaac and Shirley Stewart. He was predeceased by his wife, Katie (Frame); son-in-law, Philip Rafuse; sisters, Thelma Meadows, Doris Mitchell, Beulah Baker, and Hilda Higgins; brothers, Howard, Elroy and one in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. A graveside service will be held, 11:30am, Friday July 4, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lequille, with Rev. Elisabeth Bachem officiating. Donations in memory may be sent to St. George & St. Andrew's United Church, Annapolis Royal.
