Dempsey, Anthony - 62, Bear River, passed away June 26, 2014 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax, October 10, 1951, he was the son of the late Frank "Sonny" and Barbara (Amirault) Dempsey. Anthony was a loving father who enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood carving, fly tying and painting. He had worked for 30 years with Fisheries and Oceans and with the Canadian Coast Guard. He also was an active member and the Past President of the Deep Brook/Waldec Lion's Club. He is survived by his wife, the former, Diane Hillier; daughters, Natalie Dempsey (Tyler) of Berwick, Lindsey (Justin) MacInnis of Yellowknife; sisters, Loretta Wright of Australia, Rita Dempsey (Steve) of Halifax; brothers, Edgar of Dartmouth, Frank (Sheryl), Grant (Rita) both of Lower Sackville; several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents he was predeceased by three brothers in infancy, John, Elliot, Matthew. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Monday June 30, 2014 in the chapel at the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal, with Pastor Roy Bertaux officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Deep Brook/Waldec Lions Club. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only.
