He was also very involved in sports throughout his life such as golf, hockey, soccer, softball, tennis, ping pong, field hockey, swimming, skiing and wilderness canoeing. John completed the Montreal marathon twice when he was in his early forties. One of his greatest enjoyments in Nova Scotia was the Volksmarche group, belonging to the Dartmouth Volkmarchers and the Valley Trekkers. He planned walks, led walks and also went to as many as he could schedule. John and Jill lived in London, England for two years, where they met. They travelled a great deal and saw many parts of the world. They also traveled throughout Canada and the United States crossing North America six times by car and many more by train. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of the Annapolis Community Health Centre for their care and love.
