Obituary of William Andrew Harrison
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Harrison, William Andrew “Dale”. The family of Dale age 59 announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by loving family members and the compassionate staff of the Valley Regional Hospital on September 12, 2015. Born in Hamilton , Ontario on August 3, 1956 Dale was a son of the late William and Maxine (Berry) Harrison. The family moved to Annapolis Royal when Dale was 2 years of age. Although Dale had Down’s Syndrome he was a happy boy, raised with his sisters and brother in a loving family who treated him no different. He certainly had his own personality. He loved the police and often wore his “Real Cop” hat and his badge from the Annapolis Police. Many times telling the driver of a vehicle cops! Cops!. You hit the brakes and he’d say sucker! The only time Dale was a way from his family was when he spent about a year at a school for the handicapped when he was 10. The Van BusKirk family was where he stayed- Marjorie’s family became part of ours and they loved him dearly. He also attended daily the Revolving Door Workshop for many years. Dale is survived by his sisters Denise (Eddie) Rice, Dugway Road, Cindy Lee (Gerald) Hudson, Round Hill, Sheila Harrison , Annapolis Royal and his only brother Andy Harrison (Shirley of Halifax. Also nieces Melissa (Chris Bremner) and daughter MaKayla, Kingston, Carrie (Evan Banks) and children Megan, Lucas and Carly of Dugway Road, Janice (Morgan Salsman) and daughter Jade of Annapolis Royal/Halifax, Kylee and Kiera Hudson of Round Hill and his only nephew Scott Harrison (Carrie) and son Brady of Lake LaRose. Also many aunts, uncles and Cousins in N.S., N.B. and Ontario.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service , Annapolis Royal with Pastor Herb Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Oakhill Cemetery, Dugway Road. A reception will follow in the Round Hill Hall. Doantions in memory may be sent to the Special Olympics.
