Tavenor James “Tav”, - 84, of Granville Ferry. Tav as he was so commonly known passed away November 9, 2015, in the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal following a lengthy illness. Born on September 1, 1931, in Hearts Content, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. He was a son of the late Abe and Effie (Burrage) Tavenor. Following the drowning of his father at a young age Tav moved to Grand Falls-Windsor. In 1945 Tav began his working career in St John’s, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1951 from which he retired in 1971. He worked with DND, Greenwood until 1992. In 2004, he moved to Granville Ferry. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Emma Dale (Keans); brother, Charles; sister, Janie; several nieces and nephews. He is survived by step daughter, Daphne Goucher as well as several nieces and nephews. Tav was a faithful adherent to the Pentecostal Full Gospel Tabernacle, Lequille. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. Following Tav’s wishes there will be a singsparation and celebration of life held 2 pm, Thursday, November 12, in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal, with Rev. Herb Townsend officiating. No flowers by request. Interment will be held at a later date in the family plot, Salvation Army Cemetery, Winterton, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. Donations in Tav’s memory may be sent to Canadian Cancer Society.
