Hall, Elizabeth (Bette) Mary – 81, Bridgetown, NS. Our sweet Bette was taken suddenly and unexpectedly from us on November 30, 2015. The devoted wife of Allison Hall, caring sister of Donna (Raymond) Longley, loving mother of Bryn (Sylvia), Bruce (Catherine), Kath (David), Dave and Kim (Steven), beloved stepmother of Linda (Will), Chris (Rick) and Terri (Randy), doting grandmother of Cara, Christy, Caity, Chloë, Lucas, Hannah, Sam, Ben, Nick, Logan, Jordan, Caleb, Jeff and Kristen, and adoring great-grandmother of Max and Jadyn. A committed member of the community, laughing Bette was involved in numerous clubs throughout her life, including: the Bridgetown and Windsor United Churches, the Wednesday Wacky group, Bridgetown Bridge Club, Ladies Who Lunch (formerly the Red Hatters), 74th Crusaders Motorcycle Mamas, Bridgetown and Windsor Curling Clubs, UCW, and Jaycettes. She volunteered in many capacities, including as a Bridgetown Food Bank worker, CGIT leader, Sunday school teacher and longtime canvasser for Cancer, Kidney and Heart and Stroke associations. She was also famous as the muumuu-loving hostess of many family hat parties. Born in Granville Ferry, Bette’s life was punctuated by big moves. Married at 19 in Bridgetown she moved to England with her first husband, Peter Rowlands, where they started their family. From there, they returned to Canada – Newfoundland – then came back to Nova Scotia and raised their children in Windsor. When her children had grown, she returned to her beloved Bridgetown, married her high school friend, Al Hall, and lived happily ever after.Bette is predeceased by her parents (Vernon Campbell and Kitty and Tim Taylor) and her brothers Bill and Bob. Bette was full of life, laughter and love for everyone. As her husband Al says “Bette never met anyone who didn’t love her.” Visitation is on Friday, December 4, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown, NS. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 5 at 2 p.m. at the Bridgetown Baptist Church with Rev. Carolyn Nicholson officiating Donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
