Kirby, M. "Irene", 94 of Belleisle, Annapolis. Co., passed away December 27, 2015 in the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal Born in Upper Kennetcook, she was a daughter of the late William and Maud L. (Davis) Gill. In her early years she was the pitcher for the Upper Kennetcook Ladies Softball team. She later joined the Canadian Army and met her husband Harold while in Halifax. Irene was known for her sense of humor and was a very generous person. She and Harold enjoyed hunting for and collecting antiques. She is survived by her husband, Harold Clyde Kirby; son, John of Belleisle; daughter, Barbara Irene Reycraft of Annapolis Royal, two grandchildren and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by sisters, Thelma, Gladys, Barbara Maud in infancy and Mildred; brothers, William "Huddy" and Ronald. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Annapolis Royal. A celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday December 30, 2015 at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, Annapolis Royal. Interment will be at a later date. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Recreation Department of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home or to the VON Home Services.
