(George) Wayne Cress – On Saturday April 2nd, our brother Wayne passed away peacefully with family members by his side. Born on March 9th, 1946, Wayne lived in Bear River for many years, but for the last 27 years he lived at “The Meadows” Adult Residential Center in Bridgetown, NS. Wayne’s siblings wish to express their gratitude to the current and former staff of the ARC for taking such good care of Wayne, and making his life full and exciting for him. Wayne enjoyed his outings, visits from friends and family, old country and western music and his many, many toys. Wayne was predeceased by his mother Annie (Stewart) Cress, and his father Avery Cress. He is survived by his siblings Beverly VanTassell of Cornwallis, Val (Charlie) Richard of Clementsport, Becky (Bobby) Ellis of Bear River and Mark (Niki) Cress of Bear River his niece Wendy Richard of Bear River and two grand-nephews Logan and Shane Thibault of Clementsport. A memorial service will take place at the “The Meadows” ARC on Wednesday April 13th at 2:00 pm. Pastor Mark Cress will officiate. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Bear River at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Activity Fund of “The Meadows” Adult Residential Center.
