GATES, Ralph "Bruce"- 78 of South Milford, Annapolis Co., passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2011. Born in South Milford, he was the son of the late Ralph and Muriel (Powers) Gates, stepmother Gladys (Yeadon) Gates. Bruce had a love of hunting, trapping and fishing. He was always the centre of any social gathering and his humor will greatly be missed. He was best known for his famous beef jerky and smoked meats. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Glendeen (Henley) Gates, son; Paul (Kathie) gates, South Milford, daughters; Patricia Kook, Moschelle, Kathryn (Lyle) Fowler, Kentville; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sisters Joy Poupart, Ont, Marilyn (Geof) Knight, Arizona, brother James (Sharon) Gates, Truro, many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Milford Cemetery.
