Hawkesworth, James Robert – 85, of Hampton, Annapolis County, passed away March 17, 2017, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Barss Corner, Lunenburg County, he was the son of the late "Caleb" James and Ida May (Lowe) Hawkesworth. James was a loving man who loved and cared for his family, his friends and community. No matter how little he had he would always give to those in need. He always had a friendly smile and a wave. Many people were proud to say he was their adopted father or uncle. James loved music, playing guitar, singing, tormenting the women, loved his lipstick kisses and was known to tell a good dirty joke. James worked in the woods, built boats and did small engine repair. James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris Marie (Welton); sons, Albert James (Carrie Little) Hawkesworth, Nictaux, Marty John (Michelle) Hawkesworth, Lawrencetown, step-son, Frederick Malcom (Susan) Thibault, Middleton; daughters, Madelyn Bernett, Lawrencetown, Kathy (Wayne) Sabean, Port Lorne. 14 grandchildren; 17 plus great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and awaiting the arrival of two more in the spring; brothers, Parker, George, Randall and Franklyn; sisters, Mary Jane, Linda, Sarah and Janette; Aunt Jeanetta Dexter; special friend Richard Schofield who saved James’s life during an accident in the woods; numerous nephews and nieces. James was predeceased by twin sons in infancy John and Joseph; brothers, Albert and Linwood; son-in-law Robert Amero. Following James wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm May 18, 2017, in Hampton Cemetery. The family would like to extend Thank-you to Janet Welton, VON, Palliative care, SMH, TCU, Dr. Grant Goodine and Dr. Michelle Saxton and family friend Doreen Connell.
