Obituary of Dorothy Margaret O'Brien

~~It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothy O'Brien on November 6, 2017 at Dartmouth General Hospital with her children and companion at her side. She spent the last part of her life in Dartmouth. Most of her adult life was spent in Bridgetown raising her five children Born in Brechin, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Annie (McLennan) O'Brien. Mom's love in life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. They were always on her mind, even during frequent illnesses and hospitalizations due to rheumatoid arthritis and mental health issues. She is survived by daughters Tracey (Mark) Hall, Dartmouth; Lisa (John) Hardy, Centreville, grandchildren Haley and Riley; and sons Kevin (Sandy) Durling, Rawdon, grandchildren Chandler, Cameron and Logan; Michael (Donna) Durling, Bridgetown, grandchildren Morgan, and Cassidy and great grandchild Lacey; and grandchildren (Dales' children) Brody, Fredericton, New Brunswick, and Connor, Barrie, Ontario. As well, she is survived by long time companion Bob (Robert Strowbridge) who stood by her side through all the ups and downs. Also survived by sisters Rosemary and Sandra and brothers Wally, Joey and Bernie. She was heartbroken to be predeceased by her son Dale (Noonan, New Brunswick) and sister Marie (Parkhill, Ontario). Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. Visitation will be held 2-4 pm on Sunday, November 12 in the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. No funeral service by request.
