JOHNSTONE, Robert (Bob) Leland - 67, Sandy Bottom Lake, Annapolis County passed away at home with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer on Friday, September 2, 2011. He will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara (Henderson); daughter, Sherri, Annapolis Royal; son, Robbie and daughter-in-law Natasha, Medicine Hat, AB; beloved grandchildren, Aaron, Natasha, Mackenzie, Harley, Hayden and Hudson. He is also survived by his mother Camilla, Deep Brook; brothers Richard (Nancy), Edmonton, AB; Ken (Joanne) Medicine Hat, AB; Ronnie (Michelle) Bridgewater sisters Pam (Paul) Law, Deep Brook; Sandra (Bob) Cook, Sandy Bottom Lake and 40 nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Johnstone. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and great- uncle. He loved working in the woods, getting their winter's wood & making sure that everyone had enough wood for their fire pits. He also enjoyed his camp in the woods where he & Barb have entertained family, friends & passers by that have dropped in to visit, have lunch, a sleep or just to sign the guest book. Bob worked hard during his lifetime achieving many accomplishments, two of which were the Bear River Medical Centre and the Bear River Solar Aquatic Wastewater Treatment Facility which were implemented after months of hard Work and research. People as far away as Europe came to learn how to create the same facility for their cities. He was always available to help anyone who needed him while serving on the Annapolis Municipal Council and many have benefited from his devotion to his community and job. His devotion to nature and life will be greatly missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulback Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal Visitation will be held Saturday, September 3 from 7-9 pm from the Kaulback Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with a Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 21 Service at 7 pm. Funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 pm from St Louis Roman Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal with Father John MacPherson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Digby General Hospital or the Annapolis Community Health Centre.
